Stöten exceeded our expectations - again this year!

For the ninth year, some 90 PostNord employees from all over the country travelled to Stöten for a fast-paced skiing weekend packed with joint activities, and it was a success on all levels. Ski competitions, piste viewing, ski tests, snowmobile rides, après-ski and nice dinners were on the programme.

The event tent, which was placed in the middle of the hill, became the perfect gathering place where everyone could unwind and socialise between activities. The PostNord Plus staff foundation is tasked with creating active leisure time for PostNord's employees and the activities contribute to health, increased well-being and community among the employees.

"It's a super popular trip and places are selling out fast. We have so much fun together and the ski slope is a perfect place to get to know others within the group that you don't usually meet. Mattias in the conference department is worth his weight in gold. His commitment and responsiveness make every year an even better experience. Mattias always exceeds my expectations".

Eva Kristiansson, CEO

Best skiing in the Sälen mountains!

Niclas and his colleagues took their conference trip up to Stöten for the first time despite the inexperienced skiers in the group. This created new interest in many and the craving for skiing is now something everyone in the gang will experience in the future.

"We have now returned home after our visit to you and I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic experience. We were a group with mixed experience of skiing, from beginners to a little more experienced. Our beginner got blood in his teeth and is already talking about further visits to the mountains.

This year was the first time I visited you and I am inclined to say that you have the best skiing in the Sälen mountains! The snowmobile trip was probably the most appreciated though! Everyone was super happy and it was a good trip! Overall, we are super happy! Many thanks for a great experience!!!"

Great value for money!

For the third year in a row, the Student Association of the Systems Science Section organised a ski trip for its members. This winter the trip went to Stöten and 60 students came along. The package included bus, accommodation and lift pass. Andreas Jacobson was one of the organisers and he was impressed with how smoothly everything went.

"We were able to start our race as soon as we got off the bus in Stöten. Keys and lift passes were ready and waiting so no time was lost. We got much more for our money at Stöten than we had previously received at other ski resorts. And with higher quality, especially in the chalets - Stöten gets top marks from us!"

Stöten has everything for the conference

Mabi is one of Sweden's largest individual car hire companies consisting of around 100 franchisees around the country. Once a year they gather for a conference. It is a great opportunity to meet each other and talk about opportunities and challenges, both within the company and the industry as a whole. This year was the fifth time (in an eight-year period) that they returned to Stöten.

"We have been to other conference centres but Stöten is the only place we have returned to several times. As soon as someone opens the door into the corridor, they bump into a colleague. This leads to a lot of spontaneous get-togethers between the joint activities. When the conference is over, there's After Ski and great hanging out."

"Stöten staff are never impossible. They are always accommodating and flexible which is one reason why we like to return."

Evaluation gave highest score

Of the Kiwa Group's total of 4,500 employees, around 750 work in 25 offices around Sweden. Once a year, an invitation goes out to all offices to join them on a ski trip. It is difficult to find a geographical point that suits everyone, but Sälen proved to be a good choice as as many as 100 people signed up.

"The aim is to build bridges between departments and get to know each other."

It was the first time the company travelled to Stöten - but not the last. The response to this year's trip was so positive that they have already made a provisional booking for next year's ski weekend. In an evaluation, participants gave good marks to both accommodation and slopes. They particularly appreciated the high standard of the newly built chalets and that they were so close to everything.

"Affordable" and "accessible" are two words Erik Welén uses to describe Stöten. He would like to give an extra plus to Dan at the booking office, who was exemplary and made sure everything worked.

"It just flowed and that's the best word for it."

Erik Welén, Head of Unit
Kiwa Inspecta

Launch of the company logo in the mountains

When the company wanted to launch a new logo, they chose Stöten as the meeting place. The conference was also a starting point with the aim of bringing together the entire chain of stores from Borås to Skellefteå and creating a sense of belonging among the 70 people aged 20 to 60 who attended.

"We are more than satisfied. We left there full of inspiration. We really got the chance to get to know each other. We stayed in five big cabins which was great for the cohesion and the houses were beautiful."

The conference schedule was packed so there was not much time for skiing. The only activity they had time for was the team-building activity "Crazy Wintergames".

"The conference was extremely popular. We proved that it is perfectly possible to have fun in the mountains without skiing."

Staff events out of the ordinary

170 real estate agents from all over Sweden gathered in Stöten for a meticulously planned event. ERA's events are spectacular and technically demanding. Venues with high ceilings and access to smaller conference rooms are a must. They remodel their venues and banqueting halls to create powerful experiences.

"I travelled around to all Swedish ski resorts to find the right one. There are few mountain facilities that meet our requirements for conference rooms. Stöten met all our needs. Above all, the staff were easy to work with. We worked with open cards and always found solutions together. They were outstanding!"

"The most important thing about our staff events is that we have fun! And we did! We are super happy and would love to come back."

Peter Cronholm, Head of Education
ERA Sweden

Successful sales kick-off

Every year, the Swedish sales department travels to a kickoff to review results and future goals. If they succeed in reaching their budget, a prize is awarded in the form of an upgraded conference.

"With a limited budget, you have to be creative. Food and inspiration are part of our business idea and it was important for us to be able to organise our own cooking activity - this was no problem at Stöten."

"It's a decent resort where nothing else interferes. Stöten feels closer to nature than many other mountain hotels, which makes it easy to get down to business. We really got value for money."

Jonas Västerstig, Sales Manager
Tulip Food Company

With the customer in focus

The challenge was to understand how they want to be treated by customers and what their needs are. To find out, the sales force invited some customers to join them on a conference trip to Stöten.

"Most of the time was spent on presentations and workshops. It's important to be close to activities and entertainment. The highlight of the trip was a snowmobile ride with ice racing in glorious sunshine. We expect to come back again next year. It suited us to live together in apartments and stay in a cosy environment. We appreciated the personalised service."

Magnus Karlsson, Regional District Manager
Swedish Agro Machinery

Stöten strengthens group dynamics

"Stöten is perfect for conferences where the aim is to keep the group together and break habitual patterns. Staying in cabins and socialising in underwear is good for group dynamics. The varying difficulty of the slopes means that people divide themselves by level and not by who they usually socialise with."

"The absolute best thing about Stöten is the staff. They care and put us at the centre (unlike some other resorts). They are responsive and flexible right from the quotation stage and go out of their way to make even non-skiers happy."

Fredrik Bardon, Regional Director
Academic Work

Great skiing in a hard-to-beat location

"There are two strong reasons why we chose Stöten four times for our winter conference. Proximity and service! By proximity, I mean both the journey from the company and the distances on site. We have chosen to live corridor life at the hotel to keep the whole group together. There will be a lot of running and knocking.

Wellness is important to us and in Stöten we can combine it with conferences and team building. My experience is that we have received good service for the money. They know what we want and fix what we ask for. Everything from CPR training to après-ski in the middle of the slopes. There have been many sunny memories."

Patrik Pettersson, Sales Manager Industrial Aftermarket
Schaeffler Sverige AB

Time-efficient ski conference

"There is a lot to be done at a winter conference. Meeting in a room, skiing, good meals and socialising. Stöten delivers the whole package! Thanks to professional staff and the fact that everything is gathered around the lifts, a meeting at Stöten is both time-efficient and content-rich. It's nice to avoid time-consuming transport.

I appreciate the flexibility throughout the service chain. As there are quite a few of us, there were a lot of changes to the programme before everything was in place. There were never any problems. Those who did not go downhill visited the spa or went snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Stöten also arranged an après-ski just for us and a cosy dinner in a large hut. We would love to come back!"

Joakim Borgmalm, CEO
Dermarome

We'll fix it mentality

"Stöten has really good skiing and slopes for everyone. But the biggest reason for us to return is the size. Stöten is like its own little ski resort (with no connection to the rest of Sälen), so participants don't get lost in all directions. As a conference host, it is important to manage to keep the group together, even in the activities.

There are no employment problems in Stöten, there is plenty of choice. Last time we stayed in groups in four large houses in which we were helped to organise a cooking competition with the Stöten chef as judge. It was a lovely dinner!"

"The conference part has also worked well. Nice premises and the "we'll fix it" mentality of the staff at Stöten. We appreciate that at NCC!"

Robert Hägg, Marketing Manager
NCC Property Development Nordic AB

Always one step ahead

"We were 120 people from all over Sweden who gathered in Stöten for a ski conference. Capacity, geography and privacy were three decisive factors in our choice of location. However, the best thing about Stöten was the fantastic reception. For three days we had a constant buzz with lots of different happenings. The staff at Stöten were always one step ahead. Accommodation, conference, skiing, activities, lunch vouchers, Tyrolean night and a joint sledging event - everything worked perfectly."

Cecilia Mannheimer, Regional Director
Randstad

Everything went well at the international conference

"The ability of the Stöten staff to meet international guests, as well as their availability and flexibility. The diverse range of leisure activities ensured that there was something for everyone."

"The staff were very accommodating. We were able to be alone in the restaurant at any time we wanted to be, and the bus journey there and back to Arlanda went perfectly despite the fact that there was a lot that had to work out. For Stöten's staff, nothing is impossible. The trip was beyond expectations for all of us - something completely new that provided a real wow experience."

Terese Lewander, Business Support Manager
Harvey Nash AB

Conference rooms with good technology

"The apartments and hotel get top marks from the company, neat, fresh, clean and close to the slopes. Fantastic!"

"The conference room was very nice and had good technology. It simplified everything a lot. Conference, accommodation and restaurant were close by."

"There was something for everyone, even non-skiers."

Marie Wallin, Course Administrator
WHO Collaborating Centre The Uppsala Monitoring Centre

Stöten - perfect for the larger group

"We will stay in Stöten. It's close to everything, you don't have to start the car once during the week and there are good slopes for all levels."
