Fun outdoor activities

Spending time on the slopes is one of the best things about winter holidays, but the mountains have so much more to offer. Why not combine your ski days with other fun outdoor activities? Here are our top tips for activities for both young and old to enjoy outdoors!

Winter activities

As well as Stöten having Sälen's best skiing, we also offer a host of fun outdoor activities for all ages. Most of the activities are suitable for children, but if you want to spend some time on your own without your youngest family members, you can leave your children with our competent staff in the ski school or in Varglyan.

Go on a dog sledding excursion. Experience Sälen's beautiful scenery from the dog sled, it's guaranteed to be a memory of a lifetime enjoyed by the whole family. The feeling of whizzing over snow-covered mountains behind the eager pulling dogs is hard to beat.

In Stöten there are lots of fun activities for all ages

Try driving a snowmobile. Going on a snowmobile safari is an activity that both young and old enjoy. On sunny winter days, the tour goes up the mountain where you can enjoy magnificent views and beautiful scenery. On days when the sun is not shining and the weather is not so good, the tour takes you through cosy forests and across moorland. You can choose to either rent your own snowmobile and explore the mountain on your own or join a guided tour.

Test drive Suzuki on our off-road track! If you're up for a fast-paced challenge, visit our Suzuki 4×4 centre. Here you can test drive a Suzuki with full-wheel drive on our off-road track - or on the winter roads around the area. It's a thrilling experience guaranteed to brighten up any winter day!

Outdoor play

With the current climate, outdoor play in snow is relatively uncommon these days. That's why playing in snowdrifts and sledding hills is especially popular during winter holidays. Bring your sledge and challenge the family to a sledge race! Or why not try to build Stöten's biggest snowman? With snow, the only limit is your imagination!

Vargy Club

The Vargklubben is the children's own club where we hang out with Stöten's mascot Vargy and have lots of fun. Every week, Vargy and his colleagues organise games, ski competitions, children's après-ski, treasure hunts and a host of other fun outdoor activities for children between the ages of three and eight.
