Travelling to the mountains is something that is steadily gaining in popularity, and perhaps it's no wonder. It's magical to stand at the top of the mountain and be engulfed by the stunning panoramic views, white-clad and verdant. The magnificent nature will amaze you all year round.

During the long and bright summer days, there is a lot to experience in the Swedish mountains. Cycling, hiking, climbing, rafting, mushroom picking, fishing... well, the list goes on! There are plenty of cycle paths of all levels of difficulty, as well as hiking trails. In the mountains there are experiences for the whole family!
Travelling to the mountains in winter
In the winter months, the obvious choice is to take on the many and varied slopes you will find with us at Stöten in Sälen. We have 49 pistes, 23 ski lifts and 7 cross-country ski trails. You will also find toboggan runs that are ideal for the very youngest children. In short, you will find something to suit everyone, regardless of experience.
Although skiing is our best and most popular product, the Stöten has much more to offer - especially in winter. Take the family on an unforgettable dog sledding trip across snow-covered mountains, or why not take your friends on a fast-paced snowmobile safari? Take a break from the cold and warm up in our spa and relaxation area at Vattufjäll where you can treat yourself to a really lovely massage for ski tired muscles.
Stöten's own mascot Vargy makes sure that children have the best holiday possible. With a host of activities such as ski competitions, treasure hunts, après-ski and biomes, he entertains children of all ages.

There are many ways to get to Sälen easily and conveniently! From most major cities, it's easy to get here by train, bus or plane if you don't want to take the car. Sälenfjällen
In central Sweden, in the western half of the country, lie the Sälen mountains. These breathtakingly beautiful and fabled mountains form the southernmost mountain range in Sweden. Stöten - which is part of Sälenfjällen - is located in the very northernmost part of the mountain range, right next to the Norwegian border. Despite the relatively southern location of the Sälen mountains within the country, this mighty mountain range still offers a completely unforgettable experience of the Swedish mountain world.
