Airport transfer
Thanks to the new airport in Sälen, Scandinavian Mountains Airport (SCR), getting to the Swedish mountains is now easier than ever. But how do you get from the airport to the ski resort? It's not a problem! There are several transport options - choose the one that suits you and your business best.
In December 2019, the very first tourist plane loaded with skiers landed at the newly opened Scandinavian Mountains Airport in Sälen. Since then, skiers from Denmark, the UK and the Netherlands, among others, have been able to enjoy the popular ski resort in the stunning ski terrain of northern Dalarna.

From aeroplane seat to ski lift in no time with bus transfer
A major advantage of the new airport is its proximity to all ski resorts in Sälen. In no time you can easily and comfortably get from the runway to the ski slopes. Upon arrival, a shuttle bus will be organised to transport you quickly and safely to the ski resort you are visiting. For example, the shuttle bus to Stöten in the Sälen ski area takes just 18 minutes. In other words, you can be on skis and boots in just over half an hour after the aircraft's wheels touch the runway.
Transfer for each arrival and departure flight
Bus transfers to and from the airport are arranged for every arrival and departure to and from the airport, but if you prefer to travel privately with your company, you can pre-book a private transfer for just yourself. Sälen Bus, which operates all transfer buses, offers an alternative to smaller companies that you can easily pre-book on their website.
If you prefer a taxi or your own hire car
Of course, you can also take a taxi between the airport and the ski resort, but as the number of taxis is somewhat limited in the Sälen area, we also recommend that you book this in advance. Both Europacar and Hertz are represented at the airport with cars to suit your needs and preferences during your holiday, but we recommend booking in advance to secure a car. New 6-chair lift at Skidtorget
Following last year’s investment of 75 million, we are continuing to develop our excellent ski resort. Ahead of the 26/27 winter season, we are now investing a further 120 million SEK to enhance the skiing experience and improve access to our westernmost area – Skidtorget. A new, improved ski area, featuring a brand-new 6-seater chairlift, more parking spaces and a new children’s area, is set to be ready as early as next winter.
