5 fun co-operation exercises for kids
Throughout our lives, we have to co-operate with other people. It is therefore important to teach your children how to do this early on. And with these five fun co-operation exercises, it's both easy and fun!
Positive and empowering co-operation exercises for children

Co-operation exercises are largely about creating positive experiences between the participants and thereby creating a stronger group feeling and increased ability to co-operate. Something that can be done with advantage with the following exercises:
A task that requires both good communication and co-operation!
1. untie the knot
This fun exercise can be done both indoors and outdoors. It requires at least five participants and is ideal for children aged 4 years and above. To start, all the children stand in a circle. Next, they close their eyes, cross their hands and hold them out in the centre of the ring. They should then grasp someone else's hands and open their eyes. The task now is to try to get out of the ”knot” without letting go of each other's hands. In other words, a task that requires both good communication and co-operation!
2. Do not touch the ground
Like the above exercise, this one is ideal for children aged four and over. However, it is best done indoors and requires at least five participants. Again, the children should form a circle. Once the ring is created, they stand hand in hand. A balloon is then thrown into the ring - the children have to work together to keep it from touching the ground. To do this, they can punch the balloon into the air using their hands, head or feet.

3. balancing paper
This co-operation exercise is also best done indoors, with children who are at least four years old. The number of participants can range from 2 to 6. The exercise involves children balancing a piece of paper on their fingertips. If you want to make it even more difficult, you can let them walk around the room without the paper falling down.

4. House building
This exercise requires some props. However, the exact type of materials used is up to you. One option is to use spaghetti and marshmallows, but other options such as building blocks will also work. The exercise involves at least two teams competing against each other. It therefore requires at least 4-8 participants. Each group is allocated a predetermined number of spaghetti and marshmallows, for example 30 spaghetti and 15 marshmallows. The aim is then to build the tallest house possible under time pressure. When the time is up, you can see which house is the tallest. However, it must not fall down, but must stand for at least 5-10 seconds.
5. Stumble race
A chair race is usually very entertaining for children. The aim of the exercise is to cover a certain distance, for example across the room or even from one room to another, without touching the ground. You have chairs to help you! The number of chairs should always be smaller than the number of participants. This way, they will have to crowd onto one chair to be able to move forwards.
