To ride a ski lift with children

Going on a skiing holiday with the whole family is one of the most enjoyable things you can do. Maybe your children are getting old enough to ride the lifts on their own, and that can be a bit nerve-wracking. We'd like to give you some tips on how best to master our lifts!

Exercise with a broom

The youngest beginners start by travelling up the hill on our roller conveyors. With both walls and roof in Plexiglas, it's easy to feel safe. If, on the other hand, it's the children's first time on a lift, it can be good to have practised a little before heading out on the slopes. For example, learning to ride on an old broom is a perfect exercise! Take the opportunity to bring both skis and broom with you when you go to the sledding hill to play. The kids can sit on the broom head and hold the wooden handle while you tow them up the hill! This way, you can mimic the feeling of riding a real lift while they learn to keep their balance on the skis.

When it comes to learning to ride a button lift, it's a good idea to start by watching how others do it. For the first few times, it can feel safe if mum or dad accompanies you up the lift. Let the children stand on their own skis pointing up the slope, look back to see when the lift is coming and then help them get their legs on either side of the button. Then just stand up and enjoy until you get off at the top!
