Ski holidays to Sälen
A ski holiday to Sälen is a memory of a lifetime. Whether you're travelling with family, friends or colleagues, Stöten has something for everyone. The focus is on skiing and we keep our promises - skiing for everyone!
The best skiing in Sälen

Stöten offers Sälen's best skiing and the focus is on skiing. In Stöten you will find skiing that appeals to the whole family - short and flat slopes for children and beginners, adventure-filled skiing in parks and forests for young people and of course long and challenging slopes for the more experienced skier. There are also really good conditions for wonderful off-piste and touring skiing when the weather permits. In Stöten there are 50 slopes of varying difficulty and terrain, ranging from green beginner slopes to black slopes with good gradients that challenge even the most experienced skier.
From green beginner slopes to challenging black slopes with good gradients
A big advantage of Stöten is that our children's area extends all the way from the top of the mountain down to the valley. Thanks to the slope Grandmother's steeplechase - which is also the longest slope in the Sälen mountains with its 3060 metres - even the smallest can cruise down all the way from the top and not just ski in short small slopes at the bottom of the system. The Vargy Express chairlift takes you all the way to the top and to the start of Grandma's downhill race.
Top-class cross-country skiing
For the fast skier who also wants to get some exercise after a day on the ski slopes, we also offer 45 kilometres of prepped cross-country tracks for both classic and skate. Our tracks are as much as six metres wide and start from four different track centres at Stöten Ranch, Skidtorget, Soltorget and Kronoparken. This way, they are always easily accessible when the cross-country craving sets in.

Sälen is one of Sweden's most popular resorts for skiing and winter sports of various kinds. Located in Dalarna, 65 kilometres from Malung and near the village of Berga where the Vasaloppet race starts, is the pleasant town of Sälen. Here we find seven different facilities with winter sports and activities of all kinds, in different sizes and with slightly different focus. However, all the activities Sälen has to offer in its facilities are very family-friendly, offering skiing and activities for both beginners and more experienced skiers.

Here Stöten staff train on lift evacuation
Every now and then the lift stops. Someone may have dropped a ski, the lift staff may have received an error message from the lift, or someone may have fallen while getting off. Usually the lift will be up and running again in no time, but staff must be prepared for the worst. If the lift stops for too long, passengers will need to be evacuated - and that's a task the evacuation team is always ready to tackle!

The ski instructors who choose Manchester morning over sleeping in
A ”clinic” is what ski schools call their internal training sessions for staff. It is an opportunity for the ski instructors to develop, both pedagogically and technically, and each session usually has a specific theme. Join us behind the scenes as the ski instructors themselves are taught!
