Colourful leaves, big puddles and time for lots of outdoor fun. Autumn can simply be the best season for children's play! All it takes is a little imagination and the right clothes. So in this article, we're sharing our top tips for fun autumn games for kids!
Chocolate ball treasure hunt
Real treasure hunters are always hungry for coffee. So what could be better than when the coffee is the treasure itself? This treasure hunt game therefore ends with a cosy coffee break where homemade chocolate balls are on the menu!
You will need:
- Draw a map of the area. Mark out the treasures.
- Ingredients for chocolate balls
- A pile
- Something to drink. Juice is fine if the air is still warm, otherwise a thermos of hot chocolate
- Wet wipes or other access to clean your hands
This is how you do it:
- Start by getting all the ingredients for the chocolate balls.
- Hide them in a reasonably large area and mark the treasures on a map.
- Prepare juice or hot chocolate and pack it in a bag.
- Give the map to the kids and let the treasure hunt begin!
- Once all the ingredients are found, it's finally time to start baking and finally - enjoy the coffee.
Discovery trail
Autumn is the perfect season for outdoor play. Nature is beautiful and animals are on the move. And if you're lucky, you might even see an animal or two! That's also the aim of this discovery trail.
You will need:
- A suitable path
- Toy animals
- Information on the different animals
- Plastic pockets
- Pennants or other markers to mark the path

- Binoculars

- Print out information about the different animals, put the information in a plastic pocket so the papers don't get wet.

- Once you have found all the animals, you can sit in a suitable place and look for real animals.
Reflex bingo

The dark autumn evenings are perfect for a little reflex bingo. This game is sure to brighten things up a bit!
You will need:
- Reflections in different shapes
- Flashlights/headlamps
- Self-made bingo cards
This is how you do it:
- Draw all the figures on a piece of paper to form a bingo card.
- Hang the reflectors in a reasonably large area
- Take the kids outside and light up the reflectors to collect a bingo!
Dung throwing
We all know that a lot of pine cones fall to the ground in autumn. That's why we think you should get a bunch of people together and get ready for some pine cone throwing!
You will need:
- Many cones
- Three buckets
This is how you do it:
- Collect lots of cones - about 25 pieces
- Place the three buckets in a line
- Decide where to stand to cast
- Try to spot the buckets!
