Fitness training - exercises for better shape
When you go out on the slopes, you don't just need to be able to manage the technique itself, but it's very important that you bring your fitness with you. Skiing puts your fitness to the test and if you want to maximise a day out on the slopes, and keep up with it, it will be easier with good fitness. So we thought we'd share some tips on how to improve your fitness - both for beginners but also for those who are already working on their fitness.
Take a quick walk
For those who don't have exercise in their everyday life, it can be a good idea to start in a soft way. If you go out too hard, there is a risk that you will not continue. Fitness training is something that you build up and then it requires that it is put into routine and that you stick to it!
Go for a faster walk so that your heart rate goes up and you feel a rush. This will build up a base fitness level that you can later develop.
Go for a run in the forest
Going for a run in the woods is good for the mind and also physically, of course. Start with a short distance and keep a leisurely pace. After a while, you can increase the distance and pace - but don't feel any pressure. Running outdoors will prepare you for the environment you encounter on the slopes.
Combine strength training with cardio
When strength training, you can choose to add exercises that include your fitness. One tip is to choose four exercises where two focus on muscles and two focus on fitness and then alternate these.
This will get your heart rate up while challenging your fitness level. It can also be a fun way to get your whole body involved in your training.

Practising another sport
Practising any sport other than skiing is good for your fitness. It can be anything from tennis to football to dance. Anything that gets your body moving will have positive results on your fitness and overall health.
As mentioned earlier, there are many different ways to train your fitness. Try out what suits you best and what gives you the most effect. The important thing is that you enjoy it and can put it into practice.
