What can you do in Sälen in summer?

Quiet summer activities in Sälen - or elsewhere
Tip #1: Read a book
Summer is a time for relaxation and reflection - a time to re-energise for the challenges of autumn. Settling down in a deckchair and enjoying a good book is truly the ultimate relaxation.
Tip #2: Play board games
As well as time to relax, summer also means time to socialise with loved ones. Spend some quality time together while playing board games together - either outside on a blanket in the sun or indoors if the weather doesn't allow otherwise.
Tip #3: Have a film marathon
Those of us who live in Sweden know that the Swedish summer doesn't always bring sunshine and warmth... But when it rains, it's a great time to snuggle up under a blanket on the sofa, with popcorn and a great film marathon. Is there anything cosier than watching a film while the rain patters on the windowpane?
Tip #4: Have a picnic
Take a day trip somewhere and bring a tasty picnic!
It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just pack some sandwiches and maybe a fruit salad - but there's something special about enjoying food out in nature, everything tastes a bit better.

Tip #5: Play cube
Traditional parlour games are all well and good, but why not challenge your friends or family to a rousing game of cube? If you don't have a cube game of your own, you can borrow one free of charge from Stöten's reception. It's a classic for a reason!
Tip #6: Do a tip round
Are you going on holiday with your children? Or maybe with a group of friends? Why not organise your own outdoor quiz? Write either general questions (a good way to keep your summer holiday brain going) or questions about the participants. It will be a fun experience that also provides exercise and fresh air!

What would a summer be without a refreshing dip in the sea or lakes? In the vicinity of our Sälen centre, you'll find plenty of great swimming spots that are perfect to visit when the sun gets a little too hot.

Another popular summer activity in the mountains is hiking, which Sälen definitely invites you to do. When you visit us, you'll find yourself in the heart of the Swedish mountains, surrounded by magnificent views and deep forests. Our staff will be happy to advise you on the best hiking trails!
Tip #9: Go roller skiing
Isn't it time to start training for this winter's Vasaloppet? It's always good to be out in good time and the lack of snow does not have to be an obstacle! Try roller skis and practice both staking and skating along the fine roads that Sälen offers.
Tip #10: Cycling

It's not surprising that many people associate Stöten with winter and skiing - after all, that's our main product and what we do best. But what many people may not realise is that the Swedish mountains are magical even in summer.
