Start your ski day in the best way

A full day on the slopes is the best thing in the world, but it also requires your body to be well energised to cope. So start your day with a good and nutritious breakfast. Here we share our favourite recipes for a great skier's breakfast!

Mountain sandwich with egg, avocado and turkey

The perfect combination of protein, good fats and carbohydrates to keep your energy up all morning.

For 2 portions:

4 slices of coarse bread
1 avocado
2 boiled eggs
4 slices of turkey breast
A little lemon juice, salt and pepper

Do this:

  1. Mash the avocado with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  2. Spread on the bread and top with sliced egg and turkey.

Oatmeal deluxe with apple, cinnamon and nuts

Extra good fuel before skiing thanks to carbohydrates, fibre and slow release fats.

For 2 portions:

2 dl oatmeal
4 dl milk or water
1 grated apple
1 tsp cinnamon
1 pinch of salt
A dollop of peanut butter or a handful of chopped nuts
Possibly some honey and milk to serve

Do this:

  1. Bring the oats to the boil with the liquid and a pinch of salt.
  2. Add the grated apple and cinnamon towards the end.
  3. Top with nuts or peanut butter for extra energy.

Yoghurt bowl with berries and granola

A quick option for families in a hurry to the lift - both child-friendly and delicious.

For 2 portions:

4 dl natural yoghurt or quark
2 dl frozen or fresh berries
1 dl granola or muesli
1 tbsp honey (optional)

Do this:

  1. Put the yoghurt in a bowl.
  2. Top with berries and granola, drizzle with a little honey.

Energy smoothie with banana, blueberries and oats

A delicious smoothie loaded with carbohydrates and protein - the perfect quick breakfast before skiing.

For 2 glasses:

1 banana
1 dl frozen blueberries
2 dl oat drink
2 tbsp oatmeal
1 tbsp peanut butter
½ tsp cinnamon

Do this:

  1. Blend all ingredients with a hand blender until smooth.
  2. Pour and drink straight away - or take a bottle and drink in the lift!
