Learn to ski - our easy guide!

Cross-country skiing in Sälen

Are you curious about how to get started with cross-country skiing? Maybe you think it looks very easy when the pros on TV pass by on the screen, but remember that they have been training for many years. But with our guide, you'll soon be skiing just as effortlessly!Tip #1: The right equipment. Unlike slalom skiing where you mainly focus on your ski boot and ski, in cross-country skiing you also need a pair of reasonably long rods to succeed in cross-country skiing! Our talented staff at ski hire will be happy to help you find the right equipment if you are not sure what is right for you.Tip #2: The right technique. It is perhaps no surprise that technology is also important in cross-country skiing. We have in a previous article wrote about how to develop the right skiing technique and become a really good cross-country skier.Tip #3: Correct glide and grip. What makes cross-country skiing really fun is when you've found the perfect balance between glide and grip. For those of you who are unsure about which type of wax provides the best conditions, or which fastening tape is best suited to your skiing, there are now special skis that are completely wax-free! Perfect for all beginners who want the best conditions at once!
